Aligning with the UN 2030 and 2050 Visions
The College of Environmental Studies and Oceanography responds to the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and the Convention of Biological Diversity’s 2050 vision of “Living in Harmony with Nature.”
@ScapesLab Living Lab adopts the integrated landscape and seascape approach (ILSA) to bridge research and practice, cultivate next-generation sustainability professionals, and contribute to Taiwan’s conservation and community governance.

Advancing SEPLS Conservation and Sustainable Use
@ScapesLab Living Lab focuses on socio–ecological production landscapes and seascapes (SEPLS), emphasizing conservation–development synergies, community resilience, and nexus governance.
Using ILSA’s Six Elements (5P+S: Place, Problems, People, Process, Progress, Scaling), we co-develop new conceptual frameworks and practical tools tailored to Taiwan while engaging with global SEPLS and sustainability research trends.
